Taking the Mickie Shiraz 2022

‘Taking the Mickie’ Shiraz is named for Mickie, our winemaker Lloyd’s dad, who thought we were taking the mickie when we suggested hand pruning our four acres of Shiraz. Every winter he leaves retirement behind, rolls up his sleeves and gets the job done. We picked on 17 March 2022, fermented on skins for 7 days, then pressed to oak to mature for 18 months. It’s a style Mickie enjoys drinking: fruity, smooth and easy-going. Drink young for vibrant fruit or cellar for more complexity.
