‘The SG’ is named for Sarah Gregory, one half of Genista. A blend of Shiraz and Grenache, the two varieties complement each other just as we have for over 15 years. The Shiraz was harvested on 17 March and Grenache on 5 April. Both were fermented on skins for 7 days and pressed to mostly seasoned oak. We tested different blends in the glass until we found the right balance of fruit, structure and velvet-cloaked power.
