Byrne Vineyards

For more than 60 years, Byrne Vineyards has been growing grapes and making wine in South Australia's Riverland. What started in the Riverland has grown to include vineyards across the Clare Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills, giving the opportunity to showcase the diversity of some of South Australia's most celebrated wine regions. But for us, wine has always been about people and place. Every bottle tells a story of the land it comes from and the people behind it. From our growers and vineyard team to our winemaker, Peter Gajewski, each plays a part in shaping the wines we make. More than six decades later, we're still family-owned, still passionate about what we do, and still proud to call the Riverland home. That's something we never take for granted.

Peter Gajewski is an accomplished winemaker with over 40 years’ experience working within the wine industry. Peter spent 24 years at Penfolds, in which he worked alongside the great Max Schubert, then moving on to be the Chief Winemaker for other Australian wineries. Peter has travelled extensively overseas and is very knowledgeable about market requirements. With an innate understanding of our vineyards, having established the Scotts Creek vineyards as a young man, he has now come full circle using the estate grown grapes again for Byrne Vineyards. Peter’s sense of integrity and innovation is key to the highest production standards reflected in Byrne Vineyard wines.
